::FRIDAY FAVOURITES VOL 10::

So, I had a busier than expected week, and as such totally forgot about the Valentine's Day feature! :dohtwo: I do apologize for that, lovelies.
However, I've not forgotten about the Friday Favourites segment, so here's this weeks' fantastic highlights:
That's this week's features! See y'all next Friday!
I learned my metaphors and rhyme schemes
In a sea of broken glass
I drew strength from all the ghosts that grew
In other peoples pasts
I left my church, I left my people
With their pedestals and pain
And I can rhyme my way through trauma
Born by women without names
And when I left and there was nothing
But wisps of clouds and space
I prayed to lovers I'd imagined
And used knife blades as a brace
But now I'm sitting in this city
With its cigarettes and smoke
And I wash these wounds in rainbows
And the love you said you'd broke
I am light, I am refraction
You can't cleave the sky in two
So keep your glory and salvation
And the name I never
one.
The monster remains anonymous. If
you happen to see him, even from the corner
of your watery little eyes: say nothing, the tile
is your concern. Interest yourself in the grout, even kneel
to observe the crumbs accumulating underneath
the water-stained cabinets. Count from thirty till he takes
what he wants, then you may rise, but never,
not once in his presence.
two.
Keep all your weapons labeled and stored far
from the monster, maybe in a mattress or behind
the fridge or even the crawlspace. Remember,
not every weapon is sold as such. Items to watch
include but are not limited to: lamps, phones, notebooks,
e-mails, forks, pills, self
Tonight,
The wind is howling
My chest is panting
and the dogs are restless
and I stare, mosquito stains on the wall
I'm just floating in this bed
Drained and full of wrinkles
and needles in the palms
Tonight,
I want to grab myself, take it off,
Hang it from the shoulders
Put it somewhere dry and clean
Tell me to rest for the night
Let the wrinkles loose
let the sweat of the day dry
and this heart have a shut-eye
